The following are detailed descriptions of the most common licenses we offer for our images. If we grant a license by name that appears in this document then the definition in this document is what we mean. All terms of our Policies and Terms document also apply. Any written statement by us supercedes these documents.
If we grant you Personal Use permission for an image we are giving you permission for you to use it for reasonable "personal uses." Single Use allows you to use the image one time in the manner and for the purpose to which we have agreed. This is your best option if you want to run an image in an ad, catalog, or other "one off" use.
By default publication rights are limited to the United States and magazine publication is limited to first North American serial rights.

Personal Business Use is intended to allow you to easily and inexpensively license images of you to use in promoting your own business. The specific permissions granted are the same as for General Use.
If we grant you Personal Business Use permission for an image then you may use it to promote a business of which you are an owner or principle, or are arguably "the product." For example, this could apply to trainers, doctors, real estate agents and other personal or professional services.
COMP Use permission gives you the right to use an image in-house for mockups or in other ways which allow you to evaluate the suitability of an image for the purpose at hand.
The Standard Terms in our Policies and Terms document also apply.
Private Use permission is granted when the subject of a photograph is sensitive and it is not appropriate for the image to be spread around. You may only use the image for your own enjoyment. You may not reproduce the image in any way, email the image to anyone, post the image on any website, or otherwise allow the image to be publicly viewed.
The Standard Terms in our Policies and Terms document also apply.
